Meet Amy Jo, LMT

Amy Jo, known to many as Wicked Amy Jo, is not your average massage therapist—and she doesn’t try to be.

Originally from Massachusetts, Amy Jo grew up an athlete with a competitive edge, spending years on the court with basketball as her first love. That foundation in movement, performance, and physical demand would later shape the way she approaches the human body today.

She is also a proud mom to her two grown daughters, Maggie and Elsie—who have been a driving force behind her evolution. Amy Jo believes that life doesn’t just challenge us physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Her mission as a mother has always been to lead by example: to show her daughters that even when we break, we have the ability to rebuild, rebrand, and stand strong again—especially as women.

After high school, she attended Holyoke Community College and entered the medical field, building a career that spanned hospitals, nursing homes, and clinical settings. As a CNA, Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist, she worked in specialties including electrophysiology, orthopedics, and sports medicine—gaining firsthand experience in how the body functions, breaks down, and heals.

When COVID shifted the healthcare landscape, Amy Jo pivoted—but didn’t start over. She evolved.

She enrolled in Massage Therapy School and quickly stood out. While training, she worked in a stretch studio where she developed hands-on experience in assisted stretching, myofascial release, and deep tissue work. What many spend years trying to master came naturally to her—because she already understood the body from the inside out.

A series of events led her to establish her practice inside a weightlifting gym—an environment that continues to sharpen her skillset daily. Surrounded by athletes, trainers, and other therapists, Amy Jo has built a reputation for results-driven bodywork that goes far beyond relaxation.

Wicked Good

BW Different?

Amy Jo’s work is rooted in both medical knowledge and hands-on experience, giving her a trained eye that many in the field simply don’t have.

She doesn’t just “work on muscles”—she assesses the body as a whole system.

Her background allows her to identify and work around conditions such as:

    •    Post-operative complications like seromas and fluid retention

    •    Muscle tears and athletic injuries

    •    Geriatric considerations including fragile skin and blood thinner precautions

    •    Structural imbalances and dysfunctional movement patterns

    •    Subtle abnormalities that may require medical referral

This unique combination of clinical awareness and advanced bodywork techniques makes her approach both effective and responsible.
